Minutes of the February 26, 2025 Yorktown Civic Association General Membership Meeting

On February 26, 2025, the Yorktown Civic Association held a general meeting at Yorktown High School.

INTRODUCTIONS

  • All present introduced themselves.

ELECTIONS

  • Outgoing YCA President Mike Cantwell ran YCA’s biennial Election for Officers and Directors. The following were individually elected by consensus.

REGULAR AGENDA ITEMS

  • Janet Henceroth of the Leeway-Overlee Civic Association spoke about the Lee Arts Center

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS SESSION

  • Considerable discussion about YCA’s sidewalk project which is now delayed as the final vote was insufficient to support the project as originally scoped.  There was discussion about the counting rules in play and if/how votes were weighted based on property frontage.  Now at an impasse.  A downscoped project would survey 28 homes and would require a 60% (17/28) supermajority to pass.
