Amendments to Civic Association Bylaws

The secretary confirmed that a quorum of at least sixteen members was present. Debate on Newkirk’s motion to approve amended bylaws ensued. James Churbuck proposed an amendment to the bylaws: all lifetime civic association members identified on the YCA’s Gold List be converted to individual members, as defined in the proposed amended bylaws. Frank White proposed language. After discussion, White and Churbuck proposed the following amendment; “all lifetime members identified on the Yorktown Civic Associations’ Gold List are converted to individual Civil Association members, as defined in these bylaws.” Cantwell seconded the motion and Newkirk called for a vote. The vote on the proposed amendment carried unanimously on a voice vote. Newkirk then made a motion to adopt the bylaws, as amended, with Cantwell seconding the motion. Newkirk’s motion to adopt the amended bylaws carried unanimously on a voice vote. Accordingly, the bylaws, as amended were adopted.
